#CELN907

Dates: Wed., Nov. 8, 15, 22 & 29, 2017
Time: 6:00 – 8:30 pm
Venue: Heritage Centre, St. Mary’s University, 14500 Bannister Rd. SE, Calgary
Fee: $150/person/series + GST
Facilitators: Various Local Elders and Knowledge Keepers

This series is recommended for anyone who calls This Land home and who is eager to know more about what it means to be living here with the original stewards.

What did it mean to “make treaty” with the Indigenous peoples of This Land? To what extent did it differ from the intentions of the Crown? How did Treaty 7 shape this place we call home? How does it live on today?

Join us as we listen and learn from Elders and Knowledge-Keepers from the Treaty 7 signatories: the Siksika, the Kainai, the Piikani, the Tsuut’ina and the Eyarhe Nakoda peoples – the stories that were passed down from their ancestors of this major event that shaped Calgary.

Registration Deadline: November 1, 2017

Cancellation Policy at StMU:
Partial refunds are provided for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the first class: a $50 administration fee is retained by StMU for costs incurred. No refunds are provided with less than 7 days cancellation.
