This professional development course will be devoted to exploring how the concept of well-being can inform the theory and practice of education. In the first half participants will have the opportunity to examine well-being from different perspectives and share their own classroom struggles and experiences. In the second half we will look at teaching approaches that can enhance well-being for a variety of students in the demanding classrooms of today.

Dr. Trent Davis is an Associate Professor of Education at St. Mary’s University. He has a Ph.D from York University in Toronto, and his research focuses on the philosophy of education, with a particular emphasis on the connections between educational theory and classroom practice.
