Curious about plants in Alberta?
Come and learn with an animated local botanist Ian D Macdonald and his specimens.

Spring is an ideal time to learn about and enjoy what Mother Nature offers us in western Canada.

In this brief course, you will deepen your current knowledge about plants in: the prairies, woodlands, mountains, the wetlands and bogs of Alberta.

Exploration of the province’s flora, the main groups of plant families; access to actual herbarium specimens, a survey of common species and take-home handouts will all augment a clear outline and class conversations.

Ian is an experienced botanist who has been conducting floristic and vegetation surveys for the past 50 years throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and many of the northern States. His colourful experiences in the field add vitality to the classroom.
