Hi, my name is Emily Knudsgaard, and I am your E.S.A Spirituality Officer. My goal is to help you connect on campus to grow your faith and to discover a community at St. Mary’s University. My education background is a diploma in Kinesiology and an undergraduate degree in Sports Management. At first, I found it difficult to get my bearings moving from BC. However, I found a community at STMU that extended outside of the classroom by becoming involved in campus ministry, attending ESA events, and meeting students in second year and from other cohorts. My hobbies include being a part of the St. Mary’s Lightning Cross Country and Indoor Track Team, the President’s Volunteer Team, and taking part in weekly mass and campus ministry events (coffee and free food after campus mass every Wednesday was my highlights of first year). My hobbies outside of school are coaching gymnastics and catching up on watching reality TV shows. My favorite quote is “Look for the seed of good in every adversity”. My advice for first years is to always say hello and introduce yourself. Whether it is to a classmate, a professor, or during practicum to the staff at your school, a simple hello can make all the difference.
